How to make a perfect omelet

Omelets are one of my favorite foods to eat at breakfast. But how do you make them perfectly? I've tried many recipes and different methods but none have worked. So today, I want to share some tips and tricks with you so you can make your own delicious and fluffy omelets every morning.

When making omelets, it is important to be aware that eggs can be temperamental. They must be fresh, preferably from the organic market, and be kept cold until cooking. If you don't keep them cold enough, the whites won't form properly, and the yolks will break down too much and become runny. This will make your omelets appear strangely colored. If you want to make omelets right away, it's best not to use eggs that are too cold.

Another tip is to separate the egg before adding it to the pan. Because this could cause your omelet to become curdled, you don't want any yolk to be mixed with any white.

The bottom part of an egg that is added directly to the stovetop might be burned, which could cause a ruined texture in your omelet. Instead, put the egg in the microwave for 10 seconds before putting it into the pan. The heat from the microwave cooks the egg just enough without overcooking it.

Next, let’s talk about mixing the egg. Mixing eggs together is important. You need to beat them well. You can do this by turning the bowl of your mixer upside down. Then, vigorously shake the bowl. By doing this, the egg is thoroughly mixed with the air in the bowl.

Now comes the fun part: adding the milk to your mixture. First, pour half of the milk into the beaten eggs and then fold the eggs gently into the remaining milk. Do not worry if you see streaks of egg; they will disappear when the omelet is flipped.

After folding the eggs fold the pan onto medium heat. When the oil starts to hot, wait for the pan to cook. Once the oil starts getting hot, add 1/4 cup of butter to the pan and swirl it around to coat the entire surface of the pan. The lid should be carefully opened. Sprinkle salt in the pan. An additional pinch of salt will prevent the omelet form sticking to your pan.

Once the omelet forms, cover the pan again. Let the top side set completely. Flip the omelet upside down or with a spatula. Cook the opposite side for another minute. Remove the omelet from the pan and serve immediately.

This recipe is best when used with whole milk. But, you can use skimmed milk as well.
