How to make a perfect omelet

Omelets are one of my favorite foods to eat at breakfast. But how do you create them perfectly? I've tried many different methods and recipes, but none of them seem to work! I have some tips and tricks to help you make delicious, fluffy omelets every single morning.

First, eggs can be very temperamental ingredients for making omelets. They must be fresh, preferably from the organic market, and be kept cold until cooking. If they are not kept cold enough, the whites won’t form properly. The yolks will also break down too quickly and become runny. This will make your omelets appear strangely colored. If you intend to cook your eggs immediately, it's best to use room-temperature egg.

Another tip is to separate the egg before adding it to the pan. Because this could cause your omelet to become curdled, you don't want any yolk to be mixed with any white.

The bottom part of an egg that is added directly to the stovetop might be burned, which could cause a ruined texture in your omelet. Instead, put the egg in the microwave for 10 seconds before putting it into the pan. The microwave heat will cook the egg just right without making it too hot.

Next, let's discuss mixing the eggs. You want to mix the eggs thoroughly before you add them. To do this, take the bowl from the mixer and flip it upside-down. Then shake the bowl vigorously. The egg will be thoroughly mixed in the bowl as the air is whipped.

Now comes the fun part: adding the milk to your mixture. The first step is to pour half of the milk in the beaten eggs. Next, fold the eggs into the remaining milk. Do not worry if you see streaks of egg; they will disappear when the omelet is flipped.

After you have folded your eggs, heat up the oil on medium heat. Wait for it to get hot. Add 1/4 cup butter to the oil and swirl it around to coat all sides of the pan. The lid should be carefully opened. Sprinkle salt in the pan. An additional pinch of salt will prevent the omelet form sticking to your pan.

Once the omelet forms, cover the pan again. Let the top side set completely. Flip the omelet over using a spatula or flip the pan upside down. Cook the other side for about a minute. Serve immediately after removing the omelet from its pan.

This recipe is best made with whole milk. However, it can also be used with skimmed milk.
